Family Word Game — what we collect, why, and how you can delete it.

1. What this policy covers
This policy applies only to Family Word Game. It does not cover other products or services on this domain. Family Word Game does not require a Google account, email address, phone number, or payment information.
2. What we collect
We collect only what is needed to run the game with your group:
- Username — the alias you choose. Not your real name.
- Group name & invite code — to connect members of your group.
- Timezone — so the daily round opens at the right local time.
- Game activity — your answers, votes, and scores.
- Push notification token — only if you turn on notifications. Used solely to send you in-game alerts (prompt ready, voting open, results in).
3. What we do not collect
- Email address, phone number, or real name
- Location data (beyond the timezone you set)
- Payment or financial information
- Google credentials or social login data
- Advertising identifiers
4. How we use it
Your data is used exclusively to:
- Run the daily game rounds and display results to your group
- Show the leaderboard and season scores
- Send push notifications (if you opted in)
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with advertisers or any third party for marketing purposes.
5. Data retention
All data is transmitted over an encrypted HTTPS connection. Data is stored on servers in the United States and retained until you delete your account.
6. How to delete your data
You can delete your account and all associated server data at any time:
- Fastest (in-app): Open Family Word Game and choose Delete my account & data from the menu. Your account is removed immediately.
- Via the web: Visit the delete account page for step-by-step instructions, including an email option if you can no longer access the app.
Email deletion requests are completed within 30 days.
7. Children
Family Word Game is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, email us and we will delete it promptly.
8. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
